Interns, young professionals to connect at End of Summer Mixer

The Greater Wausau Chamber of Commerce is offering a unique opportunity for interns to build their personal and professional networks at a complimentary event to be held from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, August 11 at the Monk Botanical Gardens in Wausau. As part of the Chamber’s Next Wave program, an End of Summer Mixer will connect interns at member businesses to young professionals in the region in a fun, relaxed setting.

“As a Wausau intern myself, this event is going to be a great opportunity to meet others my age who have similar goals and ambitions,” said Taylor Thelen, Marketing and Workforce Development Intern at the Chamber. “The Wausau area is rich with talented, young professionals who are already creating incredible impact locally. Meeting these individuals will be a valuable opportunity for interns to expand their personal and professional networks.”

This will be the area’s largest event of the year tailored for young professionals, intended to celebrate and facilitate connections between Wausau’s most promising interns, young professionals and business leaders. Interns will have the opportunity to meet other interns and create valuable relationships with young professionals who have already successfully started their careers in central Wisconsin. The event will feature both a light meal and non-alcoholic beverages.

Next Wave serves as an opportunity for young professionals in the formative stages of their careers to connect. The program is sponsored by The Sentry School of Business and Economics at UW-Stevens Point.
