Survey Says! Review the 2026 Economic Outlook Report

The Greater Wausau Chamber of Commerce distributed a survey early in 2026 to ensure that the voices of business and the community were heard. Employers and professionals from across the region were invited to weigh in on the economic issues that matter most, with their insights helping to inform the priorities outlined in this report.

“Given the nature of change in broad economic policy at the state and national levels, it is important to gain a better understanding how those policies impact the local business community and psyche of the consumer,” said Dave Eckmann, President and CEO of the Chamber.

The survey gathered input on topics including business performance, growth strategies, workforce challenges and how the region compares to other markets as a place to do business. Participants were also asked to identify the most important priorities for strengthening the regional economy in the years ahead.

The Report will be featured at the Chamber’s Workforce 2036 event to be held on Wednesday, May 13. Registration is now open on WausauChamber.com. The event will feature an analysis of survey results from Dennis Winters, retired Chief Economist at the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development.
