Picnic to highlight WPS Powerhouse renovation
A number of years ago, the Chamber embarked upon a journey to preserve a historical property in downtown Wausau. The WPS Powerhouse on Clarke Island was built in 1904 and faced, like many historical properties in the area before it, a likely demolition.
Many in the community and among our membership were encouraged the Chamber to save this property and a long-standing lease on the building was secured. The first phase of a renovation plan has been completed and the Member Appreciation Picnic on Thursday, September 17 will give members an opportunity to tour the project. This complimentary event for members will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Registration is required.
The event will include food, beverages and desserts, along with music and tours of WPS Powerhouse. The event will also include a 50/50 cornhole tournament. Those interested in participating in this tournament can register here.
This picnic will be one of the Chamber's largest networking opportunities of the year.
The Greater Wausau Chamber of Commerce’s annual Member Appreciation Picnic has several sponsorship opportunities still available. Many thanks to those members already
participating as sponsors at this year’s event. Click here to learn more about becoming a sponsor.
