Business Profile: Jimmy John’s
For nearly 20 years, the locally owned Jimmy John's franchises have proudly served communities across Wisconsin. While the business is known for making sandwiches fast, what matters most to the restaurant is the people behind the counter.
The mission of Jimmy John's is simple: Better People. Better Managers. Better Sandwiches.
"We believe that when we invest in our team members and help our managers become great leaders, everything else follows, including better experiences for our guests," said Ben Cannon, Director of Operations for Jimmy John's.
"Over the years, we've watched countless employees grow from their first job into leadership roles, and that's something we're incredibly proud of," said Cannon. "Every day, we work to create restaurants where people enjoy coming to work, support one another, and take pride in what they do."
In January of 1983, the first Jimmy John’s was opened in the college town of Charleston, IL. The menu consisted of four sandwiches, made just like they are today with meats sliced fresh in-store and always fresh-baked bread.
In 1994, the first franchise location opened in Eau Claire. Today the company's franchise system is made up of nearly 3,000 locations and 700 small business owners. A majority of the locations are owned and operated by families who live in the same communities they serve.
At the end of the day, Jimmy John's is more than a sandwich shop. It's a local business that's grateful to be part of the communities they serve, and they are excited to keep growing alongside these communities for years to come.
