New Jobs on the Block returns in September for Businesses, Job Seekers
Advance Wisconsin Employment, along with their workforce partner agencies at the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, Forward Service Corporation, CW Solutions, the Greater Wausau Chamber of Commerce, Northcentral Technical College, the Wisconsin Automotive & Truck Education Association, the Central Wisconsin Manufacturing Alliance and the Wausau River District, will again host a unique job fair on the 400 Block in downtown Wausau. The New Jobs on the Block event will return for a third time in 2026 and will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, September 17.
This program aims to engage downtown businesses and larger employers, focusing on both workforce development and increasing business visibility. Any local businesses that are hiring full-time, part-time or seasonal employees are invited to participate by reserving a table for $55.20. This fee will cover marketing and rental costs.
“We are thrilled to bring New Jobs on the Block back to downtown Wausau for its third year,” said Peter Gelhar, Business Services Director with Advance Wisconsin Employment. “In addition to traditional job openings, we are excited to highlight apprenticeship opportunities this year as a powerful pathway for career growth. Whether you are seeking hands-on training, looking for a new career or an employer looking to grow your team, this event offers a relaxed, engaging environment to connect face-to-face.”
The businesses who participate are encouraged to offer interactive activities, giveaways and on-the-spot interviews at the event. The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development will also have its mobile careers lab on hand.
