New schedule, expanded program announced for Next Wave initiative

The Greater Wausau Chamber of Commerce will again offer a series of complimentary programs for members designed to empower and connect the young talent in the community. Next Wave will offer a vibrant social engagement group tailored to young professionals who are in the formative stages of their careers. The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 28 at 4:30 p.m. at the Chamber’s Business Advancement Center in the organization’s historic depot headquarters in downtown Wausau. ‘Community Development’ will be the featured topic for the event.

Additional dates and topics for Next Wave include:

“The future of our community lies in the hands of its young professionals,” said Lukas Lindner, Business Development Director at the Chamber. “Next Wave is the Chamber's commitment to ensure this segment of the workforce has the support and connections needed to thrive both personally and professionally.”

Beginning with a session to be held on Wednesday, December 10, the Chamber will launch Next Wave+ to build upon the success of the Next Wave program. Next Wave+ will be an advanced professional development series for young professionals ready to take the next step in their leadership journey. This six-session series dives deeper into leadership, community understanding and cross-industry collaboration. Each session is designed to give participants executive-level insights, real-world perspectives and opportunities to connect with influential leaders shaping the region.

“Local businesses who send attendees to Next Wave+ will demonstrate their dedication to the professional and personal development of young talent in the area,” said Lindner. “This program will provide essential connections, networking opportunities and a supportive community where emerging professionals can learn, grow and thrive together.”
