Business Profile: Graphic House Inc

Graphic House, Inc. is a full-service custom sign and service company specializing in design, fabrication, project management and installation. From eye-catching monument signs to cutting-edge digital displays. The company helps businesses, schools, churches, financial institutions, retail establishments, municipalities and organizations across the Midwest make their mark with signage that informs, directs and inspires.

The company prides itself on being a 'boots on the ground' type of installation and project management firm. Trained project managers at the business are experts at turning complexity into control and completion.

"We love seeing our customers’ visions come to life," said Kim Berens, VP of Marketing. "Every sign tells a story—and knowing that our craftsmanship plays a role in a business’s success or a community’s identity is incredibly rewarding. Plus, no two days are ever the same, which keeps things exciting and fresh."

"As the VP of Marketing at Graphic House, Inc., I continue to learn, grow and challenge myself in all aspects of my work," said Berens. "I also enjoy mentoring our teams and helping streamline processes to ensure we continue to grow."

Graphic House is more than a sign company—the business is made up of a team of designers, fabricators, project managers and installers who truly care about doing things the right way. The staff believes in hard work, great design and lasting relationships, and they are proud to be a local business that continues to grow while staying true to their values.

Around the office and shop, the staff at Graphic House, Inc. keep things light with theme days, team cookouts and holiday parties that include games and costumes. The office also features a few dogs who make sure nobody takes themselves too seriously.

"What’s really interesting is that H. Bren Hartinger, the CEO and founder of Graphic House, started out as a sign installer before he ever dreamed of launching a nationally-recognized business," said Berens. "As he became more involved in the industry, the design intent of signs piqued his interest. To learn more, Bren attended the Chicago Institute of Lettering and Design, which led him to pursue a career in sign painting."

In 1976, Hartinger put his new skills to the test by opening a small sign shop out of his home's basement in Wausau. That test ultimately led to the industry-leading sign company Graphic House has grown into with additional offices located throughout Wisconsin and the Midwest.
