    Job Description
    The CAD Drafter Designer 1 is responsible for developing detailed design drawings and specifications using computer-assisted drafting CAD equipment by performing the following duties.
     
    Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned. 
    1. Prepares layout and detail drawings for new designs and modify existing designs.*
    2. Reads and interprets complex blueprints.*
    3. Assists with transitioning of prototype parts from design to production.*
    4. Maintains and controls CAD and PDF drawing files.*
    5. Provides technical assistance to sales, marketing, and external customers.*
    6. Communicates with shop floor to provide technical direction and resolve design problems if they occur.*
    7. Develops detailed assembly documentation for manufacturing team or other customers.*
    8. Reviews bill of materials and routings for accuracy.*
    Education/Experience:
    Associate's degree (A.A./A.S.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and less than one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
     
    Certificates and Licenses:
    Solidworks and/or Autocad drafting certificate
     
    Equipment:
    • Digital Caliper
    • Tape Measure
     
    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    • Knowledge of sheet metal forming and material properties
    • Knowledge of design techniques, machines, tools, and principals involved in manufacturing processes
    • Ability to listen to and understand information or ideas presented through verbal communication
    • Ability to be self-motivated
    • Ability to organize work according to highest priority with minimal supervision
