CWBF: A Conversation with Graphic Novelist Craig Thompson
The Central Wisconsin Book Festival welcomes writer and artist Craig Thompson back to his native Wisconsin to talk about his work - including a new series partly set in his native Marathon County!
Thompson, who grew up in Marathon County, is the graphic novelist behind the critically acclaimed books "Blankets" and "Habibi." His new series, "Ginseng Roots," is part memoir, part travelogue and part essay, and draws from his own experiences working on a ginseng farm alongside his brother during their younger days.
He will sit down with Wisconsin Public Radio reporter (and CWBF committee member) Rob Mentzer to discuss his work and his approach to art. A Q&A will follow the conversation, along with a book sale and signing.
If you're a fan of comics and graphic novels, or would like to hear about the experiences of a highly regarded graphic artist and writer who got his start right here in central Wisconsin, you won't want to miss this event!
Free and open to the public, no registration or tickets required. Call 715-261-7230 for more information.
