The ATHENA Leadership Award® Program recognizes and celebrates individuals who support, honor and develop current and emerging women leaders.
The Wausau Region Chamber of Commerce has one of the oldest and most established programs in the US and presents two different awards, The ATHENA Leadership Award® and The ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award®.
The ATHENA Leadership Award®
The Award, inspired by the goddess of Greek mythology known for her strength, courage, wisdom and enlightenment, is presented to individuals who:- Have achieved the highest level of professional excellence.
- Contribute time and energy to improve the quality of life for others in the community.
- Actively assist others, particularly women, in realizing their full leadership potential.

The ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award®

- Provide valuable service by contributing time and energy to improve the quality of life for others in the community.
- Clearly serves as a role model for young women personally and professionally.
