Chamber President/CEO earns doctorate in higher education leadership

MADISON — Dave Eckmann, President/CEO of the Wausau Region Chamber of Commerce, will receive his doctorate in higher education leadership from Edgewood College at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 17 at a ceremony to be held at the Monona Terrace in Madison.

Eckmann completed his dissertation titled ‘University of Wisconsin System leaders’ perceptions of economic development’ earlier this year. The dissertation examined the role of the UW Comprehensive University in economic development. Eckmann indicated that the study provides greater understanding on how the universities can be an impactful economic development partner.

“With the UW-System restructure underway, much of the study is relevant in helping to shape the UW of the future.” said Eckmann.

Dr. Lori Weyers, Ph.D., President of Northcentral Technical College, will place the doctoral hood on Eckmann at the commencement ceremony.
